The problem

Laundry is bought on trust and convenience, and both are decided before anyone speaks to you. If a customer cannot work out what a wash will cost and when it comes back, they do not ring to ask — they close the tab.

The brief was a service anyone could book in a couple of minutes from a phone on a doorstep, without an account, without a phone call, and without a price that only appears at the end.

Booking, in five steps

What needs washing, how fast, when, where, confirm. The order builds as you go, so the price is never a surprise at the end.

The decisions that mattered

  • The price is visible from the first step. The order summary is on screen from the moment the first item goes in, and it updates as you go. Nothing is revealed at checkout.
  • No account required to book. An account is offered afterwards, once it is worth something to the customer. Forcing registration first is the most expensive form in any service business.
  • Staff screens are part of the build, not an afterthought. Collections, routes and machine states are handled in the same system. A booking flow with no operational half behind it just moves the work.
  • Server-rendered, no framework. Pages are assembled on the server and sent as HTML. It loads fast on a phone on mobile data, which is where the bookings actually happen.

What it does

Five-step collection booking with live pricing across wash, ironing, dry cleaning, bedding and specialist items. Customer accounts with order history. Business accounts for recurring collections across multiple sites. Staff screens for the collections, the machines and the day’s routes.
