Who we are
THE BRANDING BARDS LTD (“we”, “us”) is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17255870), with its registered office at 62 Uphill Drive, London NW9 0BX. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
What we collect
When you send the enquiry form we receive your name, email address, company, the service you selected, any budget range and your message. These are emailed to us and are not stored in a database on this website. A copy of your enquiry is emailed back to you as confirmation. If you contact us by email we hold the same details.
Blog comments and likes
If you leave a comment on a blog post we store the name you give, your comment, and your email address if you choose to supply one. The name and comment are published on the page once approved; your email address is never published and is kept only so we can reply to you if needed. Comments are held for review before they appear.
We do not store your IP address. When you comment or like a post we keep a one-way cryptographic hash of it, salted with a secret held only on our server. It cannot be turned back into an address, and its only purpose is to stop the same person liking a post repeatedly or flooding the comment queue. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest in keeping the site usable and free of spam.
Ask us and we will delete any comment you have left, and the email address attached to it, using the contact details below.
Why we use it
To respond to your enquiry, provide quotes, deliver services you have engaged us for, and keep records required for accounting and legal purposes. Our lawful basis is normally legitimate interest or the performance of a contract.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no tracking cookies. Your colour-theme preference is saved in your browser's local storage on your own device and is never transmitted to us. If analytics or embedded third-party content is added later, this policy should be updated accordingly.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share it with service providers who help us operate the business (for example hosting or email providers) and with professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards. Client project records are retained in line with UK accounting and contractual requirements. Blog comments are kept while the post is published, or until you ask us to remove them. Comments marked as spam are deleted.

Under UK GDPR you may request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction or objection to processing, and data portability. Contact us using the details below. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
