Business automation
When the same information is copied between a spreadsheet, an inbox and another system, work slows down. We build business automation for London and UK teams around the process they actually use.
Start with one repeated task
The best starting point is a task you can describe and measure.
Show us where information arrives, who checks it, where it goes next and what happens when something is missing. We map the normal path and the exceptions before deciding what to automate. Some tasks suit a connection between existing tools; others need a small custom application.
Workflows we can help with
- Generating documents from approved business data.
- Passing enquiries into a customer management system.
- Keeping records in sync between systems with suitable APIs.
- Preparing scheduled reports without repeatedly assembling spreadsheets.
- Moving invoices or requests through agreed approval steps.
- Showing failed actions clearly so a person can investigate.
Keep people in control
Automation needs rules for missing data, duplicate records and unavailable services. We agree which actions can run automatically, which need approval and how failures should be reported. Access is scoped to the task, with the information needed to understand what happened.
Integration or bespoke software?
If your existing tools already do the job, connecting them may be enough. When the workflow needs its own screens, permissions or records, bespoke software development may be a better fit. Read our guide to choosing off-the-shelf or bespoke software before deciding.
Agree the outcome before the build
Bring one example of the task, the tools involved and an estimate of how often it runs. Together we define the scope, expected result and acceptance checks. We provide a fixed project quote; any wider rollout is agreed separately. You can see the type of systems we build in our work portfolio.
Tell us what you need
Send a short outline of your project and the problem you want to solve.
Questions before you start
What is business process automation?
Business process automation uses software to carry out agreed, repeatable steps, such as transferring approved data or generating a document. The rules should also explain when a person needs to check an exception.
Do we need to replace all our existing software?
Not necessarily. We first look at whether your current tools can be connected. A custom system is considered when the workflow needs capabilities that those tools cannot reasonably provide.
How can we judge whether automation is worthwhile?
Record how often the task runs, how long it takes and what errors cost to correct. Compare that baseline with the proposed build and ongoing costs. Begin with a defined task so you can assess the result before expanding the work.
